Member Networking and Welcome Nasim

A short digest this morning.

First: Welcome to Nasim who is joining us in Los Angeles!

Second:
I know many of you have been talking to each other about resources, training, and networking. I'm attaching the Member Contact list again. Use it! Get support at your sites, from your site director, from me, and from your other CHIP members.

Third:
Mid-year is coming up! I think there's at least one spot in the agenda that we'll be able to use to meet together as a group to share our experiences, successes and challenges, brainstorm about anything we think would be helpful, and learn from each other.
Ann Adalist-Estrin from the Families and Corrections Network will also be presenting a workshop. I think you'd all be interested in attending one of her sessions.

Have a great weekend. The countdown until I see/meet you all has begun!

Welcome

Across the country, we see the effects incarceration has on families, and especially on children.

This blog was created as a discussion forum for AmeriCorps Members working on mentoring programs for children of incarcerated parents across the country.

It is so valuable to hear about the similarities and differences, successes and challenges, and inspirations and frustrations we have encountered serving children, families, and mentors.

I hope this blog will connect us by providing a space for discussion, questions and answers, and inspiration as we work with a common mission in different programs in different places.
