Data Collection Begins

Dear CHIP Members and Staff,

EVERYONE:
Thanks for the wonderful work you've been doing this year!

As a program you have identified or worked with over 2000 children who could use a mentor and have matched or helped match 205 children with caring adults.

This is pretty incredible!

****START-UP Coordinators:
It is getting to the time when we need to collect data to submit with our grant report.

I've attached a Spreadsheet with 2 worksheets which I'd like you to fill out.
-Matches
-Mentee waitlist
-Mentor waitlist

Please complete this as best you can and email it to me by May 21. I will have you update this form in mid-July so I have the names of mentors and mentees in your program and know which files I am missing

Expect a Mentor/Mentee/Parent Survey in a few weeks.

Question: Have you been able to access MentorPro Basic? Have you been able to put mentors and mentees in it and "match" them?****

Sorry for all the paperwork at this time!

Take care,

Welcome

Across the country, we see the effects incarceration has on families, and especially on children.

This blog was created as a discussion forum for AmeriCorps Members working on mentoring programs for children of incarcerated parents across the country.

It is so valuable to hear about the similarities and differences, successes and challenges, and inspirations and frustrations we have encountered serving children, families, and mentors.

I hope this blog will connect us by providing a space for discussion, questions and answers, and inspiration as we work with a common mission in different programs in different places.
