It was wonderful to meet/see you this weekend! Now I have faces to go along with the names and voices.
I hope you are all home safe and recovering from a packed conference.
Some of you expressed interest in having an optional telephone conference, so I suggest sometime the week of March 22nd.
Click on this link to vote for a date and time.
Feel free to write in comments about a topic you would like to cover. If none of the dates/times works for you, also suggest an alternative in the comments.
One thing folks asked in our small group meeting during the conference was about mentors with criminal backgrounds - I attached the Screening Policy for all of you.
Lastly, recruitment season is coming up, so after the next monthly reports, I'll try to check in with you all about your positions and what you see happening next service year. I know site directors are doing the same.

Welcome
Across the country, we see the effects incarceration has on families, and especially on children.
This blog was created as a discussion forum for AmeriCorps Members working on mentoring programs for children of incarcerated parents across the country.
It is so valuable to hear about the similarities and differences, successes and challenges, and inspirations and frustrations we have encountered serving children, families, and mentors.
I hope this blog will connect us by providing a space for discussion, questions and answers, and inspiration as we work with a common mission in different programs in different places.
